Despite the emotional hurdles, the author found immense fulfillment in sharing her story through poetry. She hopes that her honest and heartfelt verses inspire readers to explore their own stories, perhaps even inspiring them to write their own family poems, autobiographies, or books in general.
Helping others with their writing projects in one thing; even writing about a family member; but that's only a choice. When you are writing predominantly about yourself that gives you a bit of clarity, a sense of purpose to include longivity, more input and definitely control of the monetary aspect of the projects, the choices as to what you will write about, and the list continues.
Much will be learned regarding being that "sole person in the family who writes." Often, it may be somewhat "testy" as to conversations and sometimes it may be "praise." As that writer, you'd have to go with what you know. Get all the available processes, make the best of them and keep that goal in mind regardless of the degree of "push-back." that you receive.
